A decade of strategic investment and design-led reinvention continued to pay dividends as Omni strengthened its position among America’s premier resort golf destinations.

Omni Hotels & Resorts reinforced its standing as one of the most influential players in destination golf as 10 courses from the Omni Golf Collection were named to Golfweek’s prestigious list of the “Top 200 Resort Courses in the U.S.” The rankings were published in Golfweek’s Ultimate Guide to Golf Course Living and Great Escapes 2026 issue and highlighted the breadth and depth of Omni’s golf portfolio across both historic and modern properties.

The recognition reflected more than legacy appeal. With 28 golf courses across 12 resorts nationwide, Omni’s collection spans nearly a century of course architecture, from Golden Age icons like Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and William Flynn to contemporary leaders including Gil Hanse, Tom Fazio, Beau Welling, and Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. The result is a portfolio that speaks equally to purists seeking classic layouts and modern golfers drawn to bold design, conditioning, and destination-driven experiences.

Among the courses honored were The Cascades Course at The Omni Homestead Resort & Villas, Fields Ranch East and West at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Villas, the North Course at Omni La Costa Resort & Villas, the Old Course at Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Villas, Fazio Canyons and Barton Foothills at Omni Barton Springs Resort & Villas, Mount Washington at Omni Mount Washington Resort & Villas, and Oak Marsh at Omni Amelia Island Resort & Villas. Each property represented a different chapter in Omni’s approach to golf, blending sense of place, architectural pedigree, and long-term operational planning.

For operators and industry partners, the rankings underscored the impact of Omni’s sustained capital investment strategy. Since 2016, the company committed more than $250 million to its golf assets, funding renovations, restorations, and entirely new developments designed to elevate both playability and resort integration. The opening of Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa in 2023, developed alongside the new headquarters of the PGA of America, marked a defining moment. Fields Ranch East, designed by Gil Hanse, was conceived as a major championship venue, while Fields Ranch West, designed by Beau Welling, offered a more flexible, member- and guest-friendly complement.

That same philosophy extended to Omni La Costa, where Hanse led the transformation of the North Course, now the host site for the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Championships through 2028. At Omni Amelia Island, Welling’s renovation of Oak Marsh delivered a modernized layout that preserved the course’s coastal character while improving flow, turf conditions, and long-term sustainability. Omni Barton Creek’s four-course lineup underwent a series of major updates in recent years, with Fazio Canyons scheduled to host the PGA Tour’s Good Good Championship later in 2025.

Spencer Cody, Omni’s corporate director of club and golf, noted that golf had become central to the company’s broader resort strategy. The courses were not treated as stand-alone amenities but as community anchors that drove extended stays, repeat visitation, and multi-generational travel. That positioning aligned closely with changing consumer behavior, where golf increasingly functioned as both a competitive pursuit and a shared leisure experience within a larger hospitality ecosystem.

For dealers and fleet partners, Omni’s continued recognition carried practical implications. High-traffic resort courses place unique demands on golf car fleets, pace-of-play management, and on-course technology, requiring solutions that balance durability, guest experience, and operational efficiency. As Omni expanded and refreshed its portfolio, it also reinforced the importance of reliable, scalable partnerships capable of supporting large, diverse properties year-round.

The Golfweek honors validated Omni’s approach, combining architectural credibility with reinvestment and operational discipline. In a crowded resort market, the ability to consistently place multiple properties among the nation’s top-ranked courses reflected not only design excellence but also long-term commitment to the business of golf at the highest level.
