The company debuts lithium-powered golf cars, announces North American distribution deal, and integrates shared mobility software.
According to BusinessWire, Yamaha Golf-Car Company showcased its newest innovations at the PGA Show in Orlando, highlighting the UMAX Li, a golf car powered by a maintenance-free lithium battery. This advancement offers superior charging efficiency, extended driving range, reduced environmental impact, and a significant reduction in operational costs. By responding to increasing consumer demand for reliable, efficient, and eco-friendly golf cars, Yamaha continues to position itself at the forefront of the industry.
Additionally, Yamaha forged a significant partnership with Pilotcar Otomotiv, a Turkish manufacturer renowned for producing high-quality low-speed vehicles (LSVs). Yamaha became the exclusive North American distributor for Pilotcar-branded vehicles earlier this year, a strategic move that enhances its product portfolio. The initial offering includes the PC2, available with lifted suspension options in attractive colors such as black, white, and blue, and the versatile PC4, featuring a 4+2 seating layout available in standard and lifted suspension configurations.
Stephen Donnell, President of Yamaha Golf-Car Company, emphasized the strategic significance of this agreement: “Combining Yamaha’s robust dealer network with Pilotcar’s innovative and proven vehicles uniquely positions us to better serve our retail customers and dealer partners. This collaboration enhances our competitive advantage and delivers superior customer satisfaction.”
Furthermore, Yamaha announced collaboration with Joyride, a leading global provider of connected mobility platforms operating across over 250 international markets. Integrating Joyride’s advanced technology positions Yamaha Golf-Car Company to capitalize on the rapidly growing shared-mobility sector, diversifying its product and service offerings. This partnership allows Yamaha to enhance fleet management, improve operational efficiencies, and elevate the overall user experience. n
