With new electric golf cars and advanced technology, this historic course sets the standard for luxury and sustainability.
The Duke’s Golf Course in St Andrews, a gem in the world of golf, has unveiled its new fleet of Club Car Tempo vehicles, marking a significant step forward in both technology and guest experience. The course has added 40 jet-black electric vehicles, each adorned with the club’s distinct dragon logo, according to Golf Business News. This upgrade reflects the venue’s dedication to innovation while maintaining its prestigious reputation.
The delivery of these sleek new rides continues a relationship with Club Car and its local dealer, Carryway, that began in 2005. Ayden Roberts-Jones, The Duke’s Manager, explained why the partnership has endured: “Although we’ve looked at other providers over the years, we keep coming back to Club Car. They have the best vehicles in the industry, and their customer service is faultless.”
Central to the new fleet is Club Car’s Visage technology, a system that redefines what a golf car can do. Roberts-Jones described it as “a game-changer,” noting how it enhances the course experience for players while providing robust fleet management tools. The expansive layout of The Duke’s, presents logistical challenges that Visage helps overcome. The system allows course managers to remotely monitor and control where vehicles can travel, protecting sensitive areas like greens and ensuring smooth operations. “From an operational point of view, we can see which cars are used most, check battery life, and determine maintenance needs, all in real time,” Roberts-Jones said.
The technology isn’t just about efficiency; it’s also about enhancing the guest experience. Players can enjoy on-demand refreshments delivered directly to their location, eliminating the need to wait. “It’s a huge benefit for us and our guests,” Roberts-Jones added.
Kevin Hart, Club Car’s Sales Director for EMEA, praised the long-standing relationship with The Duke’s, saying, “It speaks volumes when a club of this caliber, known for offering a world-class guest experience, continues to choose Club Car.”
With Club Car as the official supplier to iconic events like the Ryder Cup and DP World Tour, their vehicles are synonymous with quality and innovation. For The Duke’s, this latest upgrade underscores their commitment to blending tradition with cutting-edge advancements, ensuring golfers enjoy the best of both worlds.
