A golf car parade helped keep the Mardi Gras spirit alive in one Louisiana town.

Locals in Youngsville’s Sugar Ridge neighborhood organized the parade as a COVID-safe alternative to the usual festivities that happen every year around the holiday. Brandi Landry and some of her neighbors helped organize the parade, which also included pedestrians and people on bicycles.

“Means a lot to us, especially in our neighborhood,” another participant, Carey Leblanc, told KATC. “It’s growing, there is a lot of people outside of the area so even for those outsiders to see our culture, it means a lot. Even if there is two floats, we will be happy.”
